DIOCESE OF SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS

Illinois is divided into six Catholic dioceses, or regions: Chicago, Belleville, Joliet, Peoria, Rockford and Springfield. We are one of 129 parishes currently in the Springfield diocese.

The Most Reverend Thomas John Paprocki is the ninth and current Bishop of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, serving since his installation on June 22, 2010. Appointed by Pope Benedict XVI, he leads the Roman Catholic diocese, focusing on pastoral care, legal advocacy, and theological leadership.
