“Learn more about the Diocesan Synod”

The Fourth Diocesan Synod under the direction of Bishop Paprocki is proposing seven synodal declarations.

  1. Our Diocese is committed to the Four Pillars of Discipleship and Stewardship: Hospitality, Formation, Prayer, and Service.
  2. All Diocese faith formation programs will make formation for discipleship and stewardship a way of life process.
  3. The sacraments of initiation will be returned to their proper theological sequence; Baptism, Reconciliation, Confirmation, and Holy Communion.
  4. Our Catholic Schools K-12 will offer Catholic education without charging tuition to parents.
  5. Our Parishes will commit to handing the faith on to the next generation by paying for tuition.
  6. Our Catholic faithful will be expected to fulfill the Biblical command to tithe.
  7. Instead of the Annual Catholic Services Appeal our parishes will tithe 10% to the diocese and the diocese will tithe 10% to national and international collections.

The seven proposed items listed are a very brief summary of the Synod Proposal.  Much more detailed information is available at www.dio.org -> “Learn more about the Diocesan Synod” Link: Dioceses Web Site
